Amy L. Akins, LPCC
Ms. Akins earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the Ohio State University. Her graduate training was completed at the University of Dayton where she obtained a Masters Degree in Clinical Counseling. Presently, she is licensed as a counselor in the states of Ohio and Kentucky. Ms. Akins has nearly 25 years working in social services and mental health. Her past work experience includes child welfare, treatment and diagnosis of children with Reactive Attachment Disorder and providing therapy to adoptive families. In 2012 Ms. Akins began working as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Weinstein and Associates. Her areas of practice include the anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, and the treatment of psychological distress resulting from chronic pain and/or work injuries. Furthermore, she has extensive training in the treatment of first responders and has earned recognition as a Certified First Responder Clinician. Ms. Akins utilizes an eclectic therapeutic approach utilizing a variety of techniques to best meet the needs of the individual.
