Specfically, Jonathan D. Gordon, Ph.D., J.D., is a licensed psychologist and attorney who is admitted to the Bar in Ohio, New Jersey, and New York. Since moving to Ohio in 2018, Dr. Gordon has proven to be an excellent addition to our clinical team of psychologists, counselors and social workers. Dr. Gordon was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 2020, and has approximately 20 years of experience as an attorney in addition to his Psychology practice in New Jersey. Upon graduation from Fordham Law, he worked as a New Jersey deputy attorney general for three years, representing DCP&P, New Jersey’s child protective agency, in abuse, neglect, and termination of parental rights proceedings. For the next 17 years, he was involved with family court matters, including high conflict divorce; child custody disputes; and domestic violence. He also worked as a court-appointed guardian ad litem, parenting coordinator, and mediator. Dr. Gordon has completed the required 40-hour course for custody evaluators as mandated by the Ohio Supreme Court and is qualified to perform these evaluations in Ohio.
Dr. Gordon maintained his psychologist license throughout those years and provided psychological services in his private practice. After receiving his Ph.D. in psychology from Hofstra University, Dr. Gordon, in addition to his private practice, worked in a variety of settings including inpatient and outpatient adult psychiatric facilities; a children’s residential facility; a school; and a hospital where he treated outpatients for drug and alcohol dependence.
