Workers' Compensation / Personal Injury -
W&A has developed expertise in the evaluation and treatment of injured workers and victims of injuries. In the area of workers' compensation and personal injury law, the practice model is for one of our staff psychologists to conduct an evaluation and for our local clinicians to provide ongoing treatment as needed. Our knowledgeable support staff are highly trained in the workings of the Bureau of Workers' Compensation and the Industrial Commission. It is standard operating procedure in each and every claim to track the claim's progress from the C86 filing through C9 and C84 (Medco-14) timelines.
Further evidence of our support to an injured worker is the work we do with private vocational companies along with the ORSC-BVR (Ohio Rehabilitative Services Commission - Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation) to improve the claimant's ability to function, both vocationally and avocationally, with the long range goal of returning the individual to some form of employment and a comfortable life.
Many injured workers go on to apply for Social Security Disability. In those cases W&A clinicians are available to support SSD application efforts. If, at any time, testimony is required, the evaluating psychologist and therapist are available, either in person or via deposition.
Social Security Disability -
A legal area in which psychological evaluation can be helpful is to take specific steps to intervene on behalf of clients in the adjudicative process for establishing eligibility for the benefits to which they may be entitled under the provisions of social security and supplemental security income disability programs. Weinstein & Associates' clinical staff are also well versed in, and available to, support the effort with the specifics needed for SSD application.
