Gary Byron, LPCC-S
Mr. Gary Byron earned a Master of Education in Community Mental Health Counseling and a Master of Arts in Family Development from The University of Akron. He is licensed by the State of Ohio as a Licensed Professional Counselor with Supervisory status (LPCC-S) and an Independent Marriage and Family Therapist (IMFT). Mr. Byron has an extensive background in working with Depression, Anxiety Disorders, PTSD, ADHD, sexual abuse, antisocial issues associated with probation/court and other mental health disorders. He has worked with couples in marriage therapy to resolve conflict and restore love and passion into their relationship. Couples bring all
types of issues to therapy; learning the processes and dealing with these issues is the focus of his therapy style. He has worked to empower parents in family therapy to take control of their family and to help them learn to function in a healthy manner. Mr. Byron specializes in Individual, Marital and Family Therapy, Personal Injury and treatment of clients with the Bureau of Workers' Compensation. He has been practicing at Weinstein & Associates since September, 2013.
Over the past 30 years Mr. Byron has also been an adjunct faculty member at The University of Akron where he has taught applied psychology classes for both undergraduate and graduate students. His classes taught include Stress Management, Relationship Building Dynamics, Functional-Dysfunctional Families and the Dynamics of Self-Esteem which have all been very popular but none have been requested more than his Marriage and Divorce class.
