Dr. Gordon earned his Master’s degree in General-Experimental Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University (Teaneck, NJ) and his Ph.D. in School-Community Psychology from Hofstra University (Hempstead, NY). His clinical psychology internships were at Central Islip (Long Island, NY) State Hospital, Hofstra University’s Counseling Center, and at Long Beach Memorial Hospital’s Methadone Program. He received post-Doctoral Training at the Institute for Rational-Emotive Therapy with Albert Ellis, Ph.D. and at the Institute for Behavior Therapy, both in New York City. He received a J.D. degree from Fordham University School of Law and is admitted as an attorney in Ohio, NJ and in NY. He is licensed as a Psychologist in Ohio, New Jersey and in New York. He is a member of the American Psychological Association, and the Ohio Psychological Association, NJ Psychological Association and the NY Psychological Association. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, Ohio, NJ and NY Bar Associations as well as the Cleveland Bar Association. He is an approved provider for the Bureau of Worker’s Compensation of Ohio and is listed in the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology.
Dr. Gordon’s specialties include psychological evaluations of adults with physical injuries, as well as with forensic child custody, parenting time and best interests evaluations. He has extensive experience in cognitive behavior therapy for adults with psychological effects of physical injuries as well as in treating other psychological disorders such as behavior disorders, anxiety, phobias and depression, and counseling clients and couples having relationship problems.
He has an interest in mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral techniques for pain and for those with chronic illness. He ran a cancer support group for men at Holy Name Medical Center (Teaneck, NJ) prior to his moving to Ohio when he joined Weinstein & Associates in 2018.
